You realize that the "owner" is the government of Ontario... [/ QUOTE ] Last time I checked, Niagara Fallsview casino was the flagship property of the Hyatt Corp. and Hyatt gaming. Hyatt holds the managment roll while the Alcohol and Gaming authority of Ontario enforces regulation and law. outs |

Re: Niagara Poker
Berk and Kid: Many thanks for the reviews. I have not had a chance to visit yet, but I am there next week.
[ QUOTE ] I was a little disappointed walking into a casino/resort that cost over $1 billion to build, that only has 8 poker tables. [/ QUOTE ] You shouldn't be. Any investment other than a new slot machine is considered sacrilidge in Ontario gaming cirlces. Casino management is 100% focused on pumping coins. On a revs/foot basis, poker is dead last. Of course, it is one of the most popular and fastest-growing areas of gaming, so as a casino owner you avoid poker at your own risk. If I dont go to your casino, then my wife doesn't give you a zillion dollars worth of action in blackjack and slots and none of our friends are going to be there. Fallsview was supposed to open with a lot more than 8 tables right out of the box, so I would hope they would expand. If there's a six hour wait for seats, they're nuts not to double up. |

Re: Niagara Poker
I want to drop in tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon. Am I wasting my time because of the wait? Maybe I should just head for Brantford until they get more tables.

Re: Niagara Poker
This is like beating a dead horse. Reread this: "FMC has been contracted by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation"

How skillful was the 2500NL game?
I suspect the guy who lost 16K is a crack head but, did he get some real bad beats? Was it a rock garden? I just hope the loss by the wildman didn't add to another statistic in the Niagara river.....
