Default playing TP from BB

I don't have a specific hand but it could be:
you have K3 in the BB and 4 players see the flop of K84:
bet out the pot? check-call? check-raise? what's the best strategy?
I find myself trapped in this kind of hands many times against a better kicker...

I've just switched to 6-max, so I'm (re-)learning this. But try treating it like second pair, top kicker and play it that way. That is, in your example play the rest of the hand as if you had A8. Actually I find it not as stupid as it may sound

Depending on how many seeing the flop, I'm inclined to bet out the pot or close to the pot. If you get called, slow down dramatically if you don't improve. Only time I might bet the turn is if the flop is 2-suited and I get called by a guy who I know loves his flush draws, then it's probably not more than 3/4 of the pot. If there are 5-6 players seeing the flop a check/fold on the flop is alright to IMO.

With "slow down" you mean check/fold or check/call small bets? This is the point...

Check-fold.

If no one bets the flop, then I'll check-call later streets to pick off bluffs if the board doesn't get scary. Maybe bet the turn if my opponents are really predictible. I don't care about giving free cards since the pot is tiny and I don't even know if I have the best hand.

It's weird, because that's EXACTLY what I was thinking when I read this. Treat it like middle pair, top kicker. Great minds think alike!
