Default Making money at poker

I think Mr Sklansky's books prove that the only way to make money in poker is write books about it.

I've read Theory, and I read Small Stakes. Both have valid sounding theories, but nearly all points have footnotes noting exceptions.

It's ok saying that people will stay in to the end with poor cards, and occasionally they win... I agree with that statment.

But when you're up against up-to 9 other opponents, who will all, at some point stay in, and pull off remarkable odds wins, then you cannot win over time, regardless of how tight or 'by-the-book' you play. Yes, Player A will lose overall, but by then Players B, C ,D, E and F have depleted your bankroll.

I'm not babbling. I'm just stating how I see it.

Wow, we should inform all the 2+2 posters who make money from poker immediately.

They have to be made aware that what they are doing is impossible.

Thank you for saving us.

Yeah, sarcasm is a positive contribution to any discussion.

Like your original post was a huge contribution?

It's certainly not going to spark any serious discussion, because it's a really silly thing to say.

That is all.

OK, maybe the first post was just borne out of frustration.

The second reply explains my reasoning

Should I return my winnings to date??

Ok, seriously - the best thing I can think of to help explain the "randomness" of it all is the scenario explained in Theory of Poker. You and I will play a game where you choose a number from 1 to 5. The wager is $1 and I'll pay you 7:1 if you get it right. Do you want to play?

Poker is like this game on crack. Not really, but.... If you have any faith in mathematics, you should be able to see poker as such.
