Would you have made this play 50+5 Large Caps
So last nights Large Caps on party I was pretty much nursing my average to a little below average stack for most of the tourney. I had 11100 in chips with 25 players left. I am now a short stack, probably in about 18th place. Blinds are 1500/3000 and I am in MP. I am dealt AJd
and pushed. BB (20000 in chips) woke up with AKo and called. I was out in 25th with a toilet flush. Would anyone not make this play in this position. Signifigant money was at the final table getting 25th or 11th was around a 90 dollar diference. Thanks All |

You have only 4x the big blind and the money isn't increasing for a while....I'd say no brainer push here. You need to double up or win some blinds at least, this seems like a good hand to do it. Unfortunate you ran into AK.

Easy Push, although Id honestly rather be making it with a hand like T9s, more outs against the AQ/AK hands that people will call with.
But yea push it every time. |

Re: Would you have made this play 50+5 Large Caps
i think this would be a more valid point if hero had more like 9 bb's, and A5s instead of AJ. with 4 bb's, hero will get called by Ax smaller aces frequently, as well as decent K's. on the flip side, T9 is not going to be ahead if called.
and yes, not pushing here would be horrible. |
