Re: Annie, the real question...
It's actually a serious question given the rumors which always go around with this type of thing. And, of course, did Annie give some to other players at the table?
Several super high stakes players (I don't know if Annie is one of them) pool their bankrolls together when Texas billionaire Andy Beal comes to Vegas. Andy plays against one of them heads-up for stakes as high as 100,000-200,000. Before playing just heads-up, Andy would play for smaller stakes against a table full of these super high stakes players and he apparently got suspicious that his opponents were colluding together. Of course, there is no proof- just suspicion. So, when $2,000,000 is at stake, the rumors start again that several players in the ESPN TOC agreed in advance to split the prize money if any one of them won. I suppose this post can only help spread those rumors further. |

Re: Annie, the real question...
There was no prior deal to split any money. ESPN was clear that they did not want deals. Some players did sell pieces of themselves before the event to their friends (not playing in the event. We each had 200K in equity. I sold 35K worth of equity to friends of mine.

Re: Annie, the real question...
Hey Annie,
Congratulations on the win. Did ESPN disallow deals during the game? There is a rumor on RGP that you chopped with Phil... my guess is that ESPN's contract with you guys would not allow that.
