Default A bad beat story - Somebody Else\'s

A guy got beat. It is 50/1$ HE. Well he had top pair on the flop and the turn but middle button paired on the river. Not to worry, our hero bet out. It was called round. He must of thought he was going to win. Sadly, it was not to be.

The pot was very big by the game's standard - thirty six big bets. There must have been two bets preflop; then everybody chased to spike a high card in their hands - that did not happen. However, somebody did spike middle button.

He then played next 27/30 hands. He two bet the next three consecutive hands after his bad beat. He called four bets preflop a couple of times. He first dropped hand on hand eighteen after his bad beat. He sat out one hand, somewhere after hand 22. After steaming off $90 he left. He must have contributed $4/5 - not the end of the world.

What was the hand that was the cause of all this upset?

Well he had top button on a nine high flop - and his kicker was lousy.

OK he was winning until the river but we all know that you can be drawn out on - even if he had had pocket rockets. However, he had a lousy nine. He must have been a wishing and a hoping but it all came to nothing.
