I\'m on a roll! Analyze for me?
This post serves two purposes. One, to gloat over the fact that I've been ITM in my last...wait for it....wait for it...TWO SNG's. I know, calm down, you'll have your chance. I've been running bad lately, and I think the last two tournaments have been great for my confidence. I've played well, had some hands hit, basically what I've expected from myself.
Also, I'd like you look at a few hands and tell me what you think. There aren't too many "lost at the showdown" hands...(I think I was 7/8 at one point at the showdown) but there are a variety of hands I'd like you to critique for me. Sure, I won this one, but a part of me would like to win another one Anyways, here they are. PokerStars Limit 5+.50 SNG Hand 1: Table '2056806 1' Seat #5 is the button Seat 1: chezeman (1500 in chips) Seat 2: HighrollerJL (1680 in chips) Seat 3: JdLewis (1760 in chips) Seat 4: Hokiesid (1460 in chips) Seat 5: BCSammy (1300 in chips) Seat 6: tonimwelch (1460 in chips) Seat 7: shortychyna (1480 in chips) Seat 8: brokedawg (1480 in chips) Seat 9: Chiefs2 (1380 in chips) tonimwelch: posts small blind 10 shortychyna: posts big blind 20 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to chezeman [Th Tc] brokedawg: calls 20 Chiefs2: folds chezeman: raises 20 to 40 HighrollerJL: folds JdLewis: calls 40 Hokiesid: folds BCSammy: folds tonimwelch: calls 30 shortychyna: folds brokedawg: calls 20 *** FLOP *** [Ah Qs 7s] tonimwelch: checks brokedawg: checks chezeman: bets 20 JdLewis: folds tonimwelch: calls 20 brokedawg: calls 20 *** TURN *** [Ah Qs 7s] [3h] tonimwelch: checks brokedawg: checks chezeman: bets 40 tonimwelch: calls 40 brokedawg: folds *** RIVER *** [Ah Qs 7s 3h] [3c] tonimwelch: checks chezeman: checks *** SHOW DOWN *** tonimwelch: shows [4s 4d] (two pair, Fours and Threes) chezeman: shows [Th Tc] (two pair, Tens and Threes) chezeman collected 320 from pot Did I get lucky here. Was the flop bet correct? The turn bet? Finally, do you check the river? I put villain on Qx and figured he was going to call regardless. Hand 2: *********** # 94 ************** PokerStars Game #541035180: Tournament #2056806, Hold'em Limit - Level II (30/60) - 2004/07/12 - 23:21:10 (ET) Table '2056806 1' Seat #4 is the button Seat 1: chezeman (1630 in chips) Seat 2: HighrollerJL (2775 in chips) Seat 3: JdLewis (1700 in chips) Seat 4: Hokiesid (1905 in chips) Seat 5: BCSammy (575 in chips) Seat 6: tonimwelch (1280 in chips) Seat 7: shortychyna (1270 in chips) Seat 8: brokedawg (1065 in chips) Seat 9: Chiefs2 (1300 in chips) BCSammy: posts small blind 15 tonimwelch: posts big blind 30 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to chezeman [9d Td] shortychyna: folds brokedawg: calls 30 Chiefs2: folds chezeman: calls 30 HighrollerJL: folds JdLewis: folds Hokiesid: folds BCSammy: calls 15 tonimwelch: raises 30 to 60 brokedawg: calls 30 chezeman: calls 30 BCSammy: calls 30 *** FLOP *** [Jh 8c 4s] BCSammy: checks tonimwelch: checks brokedawg: checks chezeman: checks *** TURN *** [Jh 8c 4s] [Qs] BCSammy: checks tonimwelch: checks brokedawg: checks chezeman: bets 60 BCSammy: folds tonimwelch: calls 60 brokedawg: folds *** RIVER *** [Jh 8c 4s Qs] [Ad] tonimwelch: checks chezeman: bets 60 tonimwelch: raises 60 to 120 chezeman: raises 60 to 180 tonimwelch: raises 60 to 240 Betting is capped chezeman: calls 60 *** SHOW DOWN *** tonimwelch: shows [Ac Kc] (a pair of Aces) chezeman: shows [9d Td] (a straight, Eight to Queen) chezeman collected 840 from pot I'm pretty confident on my play post-flop. Obviously getting odds to the OESD. Should I be tossing this preflop either before or after the raise? I figure I'll have decent position to play soooted connectors, and after he raises now I'm getting odds. Hand 3: PokerStars Game #541130819: Tournament #2056806, Hold'em Limit - Level VI (200/400) - 2004/07/12 - 23:58:08 (ET) Table '2056806 1' Seat #7 is the button Seat 1: chezeman (4710 in chips) Seat 2: HighrollerJL (1630 in chips) Seat 3: JdLewis (1625 in chips) Seat 6: tonimwelch (4240 in chips) Seat 7: shortychyna (1295 in chips) chezeman: posts small blind 100 HighrollerJL: posts big blind 200 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to chezeman [9s Kc] JdLewis: folds tonimwelch: calls 200 shortychyna: folds chezeman: calls 100 HighrollerJL: checks *** FLOP *** [Qs Jc 9h] chezeman: checks HighrollerJL: bets 200 tonimwelch: calls 200 chezeman: folds Folding my only option? If he calls, I'm certainly beat and go into check-fold mode. But, I'm guessing unless he has an A or a K (he for one would have raised with A, he capped my TT with A2o HU) or any pocket pair, he'll fold. Agree with this bet? One more. For all you bad beat lovers out there. It's HU, I just about have him finished. And he does this to me. Schmuck. Hand 5: PokerStars Game #541189778: Tournament #2056806, Hold'em Limit - Level VIII (400/800) - 2004/07/13 - 00:21:12 (ET) Table '2056806 1' Seat #2 is the button Seat 1: chezeman (11620 in chips) Seat 2: HighrollerJL (1880 in chips) HighrollerJL: posts small blind 200 chezeman: posts big blind 400 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to chezeman [Kd Kc] HighrollerJL: calls 200 chezeman: raises 400 to 800 HighrollerJL: raises 400 to 1200 chezeman: raises 400 to 1600 Betting is capped HighrollerJL: calls 400 *** FLOP *** [Qc 9c 7h] chezeman: bets 400 HighrollerJL: calls 280 and is all-in *** TURN *** [Qc 9c 7h] [3s] *** RIVER *** [Qc 9c 7h 3s] [6d] *** SHOW DOWN *** chezeman: shows [Kd Kc] (a pair of Kings) HighrollerJL: shows [8s Th] (a straight, Six to Ten) HighrollerJL collected 3760 from pot No complaints from me tonight. Unlike last night where I nearly cursed the guy out when his A2s flushed away my AA. I just shook my head and focused on outplaying him, which I honestly think I did. I apologize for the length of this, but like I said, I just want to improve. If anyone can offer insight on ANY of these hands, that would be wonderful. As always, good luck at the tables....unless you're at my table of course. kyro |
