i am proud to say i busted one of spicy's KK's when i had A9s or something.
spicy dominated our table. built the big stack relatively early and kept raising everyone out of their blinds. frequently caused a fold-fest with a raise from UTG and UTG+1 (which happened to coincide with my blinds). spicy started to read our table as being a bit tight and took advantage. poor william sitting right next to spicy had a tough time getting going.....but was still playing pretty well. when i tried to steal spicy's blinds it usually turned out not to be such a great idea. but spicy was also good for a couple of double-up's for me when i was in desperation mode. one time i tried to steal with 85s or something...and the flop came Q85 ...but it was the first time spicy folded for one bet on the flop. an orbit later i get JJ or something and raise spicy's blinds again....spicy complains on my blind-stealing frequency and i'm happy to get noticed on this one....until an A and K come on the flop and i have to get out of there. when down to 2 tables i thought about trying a steal with 3c2c from CO. but i think i felt someone was ready to take a stand against me so i let it go. the flop came all clubs....and i think crackerzack (or someone) hit 2-pair with their AJ or AT. coulda, woulda, shoulda. a few hands later spicy made a smart call against me with 3rd pair or something when my AQ didn't catch a darn thing. i really thought one more bet would induce a fold with two K's on the board. one steal too many i guess. good stuff. very enjoyable tournament (particularly after i WASN'T the 3rd player out....which came very close to happening). |
