Should you ever fear Quads?
Pokerstars $2/4 NL
Stacks Hero $400 Villian $600 I'd been running over the table a bit with a rush of good cards in the past 30 minutes, and going all-in either pre-flop or on the river to create a wild loose raising impression (even though the cards were much better than could be expected.) People were asking ARE YOU DRUNK? Anyway, I got dealt KK under the gun and raised it to $8. I got one caller and the blinds fold. FLOP: K93 rainbow I made a pot sized bet on the flop and got called. TURN: 9 I made a bet of about half the pot and got called, hoping to create an impression of being on a bluff or continuation bet. River: 5 I went ALL IN and got called by 99. (QUAD 9's) Is this just bad luck or was there anyway to avoid this disaster? |
