that is incorrect, and your thinking is highly counter-intuitive EV wise.....take the following example....

Holdem Hi: 1086008 enumerated boards
cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
As Ah 502483 46.27 582508 53.64 1017 0.09 0.463
8c 7c 193832 17.85 891159 82.06 1017 0.09 0.179

and now remember, you are getting over 3 to 1 on your money.....would you take 3 to 1 on a coinflip?....buying in short at big games has always been a very VERY profitable strategy when done correctly....
