I shouldn't rate women...not becuase it's wrong, I just know I have idiosyncratic tastes. So my answer satisfies no-one.

Here's what I mean:
When people ask for a rating of their own gf/friend/prospect they're saying: "is this chick pretty by the standard definition?" They're hoping for a yes. So the people who answer are trying to be nice, (often unconsciously) by rating them high. Similarly, when rating professional models, porn stars, etc…the raters are judging the pix as DEFINITIONS of beauty rather than examples. Hence-- the harder judgments.

This goes along with what I've heard from psychologists (well, the one that I know…), that men, while they may rate women’s appearance harshly when being hypothetical, when it comes to the real women that they know and have relations with, have MUCH lower standards. With women it’s the opposite…they may claim that a man’s appearance isn’t that important, but they have very definite standards and types and care about what their girlfriends find attractive. Generalizations, yeah, but it sounds right to me.

This being said: I <3 fatchicks, and I don’t even care. So discount my ratings from now on… [img]/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img]
