Default zen and the art of poker

i was reading a book that talks about using your current luck during a session, in your decision proces. Meaning, if you have been getting the right odds to for your last 6 draws but have missed .... that the 7th time you are in the situation .. you should let it go because your running cold or down on your "luck" .... i feel like this flies in the face of what most writers suggest...id like to here some opinions on this...
