(And as my man John Keats said "A thing of beauty is a joy forever.) Hero had showed no real fear of the three clubs, perhaps indicating Hero's holding one. Villian was representing an overpair or top set or something big enough to win unless that 4th club comes out. Villain was protecting with a turn bet, and the call could be Hero on a draw. On the river Villain checks believing Hero has enough to bet (be it the flush, or enough to try and steal), and traps him for two bets. Awesome. If this was the first hand at the table, you could say it was risky and questionable. I'm assuming they'd been playing for a while. |
