Chicago Area Hold\'Em
What is the deal with Chicago area card rooms? The only one I can find that has hold'em is Hollywood Casino in Aurora. I'm not familiar with the Indiana casinos, but it didn't appear they offered hold'em. I took a day off just to play HE at Hollywood, since the tables aren't open on weekends. Some regulation that they can only have so many tables open and with busy weekends, poker gets the shaft. Got there around 10:30AM on a Friday morning and was 5th in line for two 5-10 tables. SIX HOURS later I've moved up to 3rd in line. The table was closing at 8PM (again, the regulations), I didn't think I'd ever get on so I left. I've mostly been playing online and a couple times in Vegas and never tried a B&M before in IL. Don't know if I will again. Are the waits like this elsewhere, where the players never move once on? Seems the Chicago B&M HE scene sucks. Ed |
