Re: A rare flop c/r with one pair (Stars 6max)
[ QUOTE ]
This isn't all that interesting. Nobody shows any interest at all in the pot so checkraising is fine. You win it right there a lot of the time. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, that's what I thought as well, but before getting to that point there are a few options. To address others points. I wasn't sure whether I liked to re-raise pre-flop since I would really have to jam since there are already 4 others in and a pot raise would be to about 20. I probably take it down alot right there, but if not it kinda puts me in a reverse implied odds situation cause I probably have to back my stack on a TP flop after that. Though this was only my 7th hand and it would have been my third raise so maybe I could get some bad calls. My plan after just calling was to pretty much check/fold most missed flops since in a 5 way pot somebody should have a piece of it. On an A or Q flop I was going to probably check and see the action since I had great relative position. Depening on flop texture and action from the 3 bigger stacks I can possible let it go. If it went PFR bets everyone folds I was probably just going to call and see the turn as I think the c/r heads up would suck. As it turned out as Ghaz pointed out I don't think it was that interesting. Unless someone is sandbagging I have the best hand so I must have it almost all the time. Probably someone is out with either a straight draw or Top/Mid pair. I didn't really want to let them hit a crappy two pair/straight on me so I just c/r to take it down or at least get it HU. Pot seemed big enough with TP2K to win it right there. Since the main goal is to take it down and I think should work out a lot, I think I make this play with about any two as well. |
