Default Dealer encouraged soft-play at Casino Niagara...

Buddy #1 bets a Q-high flop, Buddy #2 to his immediate left raises, everybody else folds. As the dealer deals the turn card, which is another Q, he asks the two guys if they're just gonna check it down. They ask him why they would do that and the dealer tells them that "usually friends don't like to take each other's money." So they decide that they'll just check it down and they both show trip queens.

I've never seen a dealer suggest that friends soft-play each other before; I thought that was a bit out of line. But they obviously hadn't been colluding to push the other players out of the pot and this hadn't happened once before in over four hours of play with them so I didn't say anything. And these dealers (and the floor) really really suck.

Any thoughts? Anybody else ever see a dealer make this suggestion?
