Default Re: A9s I run into these type players quite a bit so...........

Okay, I'm confused. The consensus here seems to be to bet the flop. I'm not sure why. We have mptk, but no redraw. The board is very coordinated, with a flush draw. What is the flop bet for? To get it heads up with villian? Any flush draws are coming along for the ride. Please help me understand this.

Betting the flop into the maniac with your MPTK is quite good, because it is likely that the maniac will raise and face the rest of the field with having to call 2 bets cold.

Then you have a good chance of playing heads up against the maniac, with probably the better hand.

A flush draw will still come along for the ride, but would prefer not to have to call 2 bets with only 2 other opponents.

Also you have up to 5 outs to improve to either trips or 2 pair, if your hand is not best.
