This shouldn't be an issue.
Room safe to valet/taxi stand to other casino to poker room. There is almost no chance for someone to screw with you here. I've carried over $10k on numerous occassions in Vegas with even less protection than this (Going to self-park at Wynn, strip club, walking down the strip, etc) and never had a problem. Guess it could happen though.
