Default Re: Is human life more valuable than other forms of life

I believe a human life has more value than an animal life.

I dont make this judgement based on speciesism - it's nothing inherent in being human (and there are some human lives i dont value highly - eg someone who will never recover from their vegetative state, yet is kept alive). I believe there is inherent value in a human beings capacity to make moral and ethical choices. That means a human > chimp > blade of grass.

So my answer to your question is that most human lives are more valuable than most other animal lives. I believe in absolute moral truths though (clearly unpopular here) and I cant see any logical reason to value human life the way I do without those absolute truths.
