Default I don\'t get SSNL players (NC)

How/why does a player who later turns out to be 10/4/1.33 defend his SB with A8o to a 6xBB raise?

I'm not upset about losing the hand (KK)

I just don't understand the reasoning. He kept saying things like, "Ace high is a favorite heads up against most hands"

You'd think A8o and greater hands would make up more than 10% of the hands he received, yet he chose not to play them then.

Was it because I attacked his small blind (from the big blind by the way)?????
