Default Poker Stars tougher than other sites?

I don't think so.

I have seen quite a few posts the last few months asking this question. Normally I play on Party but today I deposited some money into Poker Stars for the WPT bonus. When loading a few hand histories, I was noticing the difference in some of the statistics between the two sites.

The flop percent I saw today on Poker Stars at the 1-2 tables for 33%. This number at the same level on Party is 40%. Then it hit me. The games are not tougher. It is simply the difference in the structure of the two sites.

When someone new to the game starts on Party, they generally start at the .50-1 level. Then they work their way up. On Poker Stars, a new person might start at the .05-.10 level or the .25-.50 level and try to work their way up.

This might explain the differences in trying to compare the same limits on the two sites. 1-2 is the second level at Party where as is is the third or fourth level on Poker Stars. This could explain why at the same level the tables are so much tighter.

Anyway, those are my obsevations and I am sticking to them!

any comments?
