I'll have to go with Diablo on this one. If you're gonna agree to do the interview at least give the guy that 30 solid minutes (or whatever you see fit) of your time.

As for the interview format, why not do phone interviews with people and transcribe it? I'm sure it will come out much better for all your readers when its cleaned up a little. I doubt many subjects would object to a short phone discussion. I hope you keep with this, I'm sure you'll get lots of interesting sessions.
