Default Correct line here? (friend\'s live 4/8 hand)

I think my friend played this fairly correctly, but it generated a lot of discussion at the table when he was there (I wasn't). I think the same discussion can be generated here.

Friend, we'll call him "Kevin" has K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in the Big Blind
UTG live straddles (read is loose agressive, loves to gamble and straddles a lot)
UTG+1 is very willing to play back at UTG.
Rest of the table is donkish.

UTG+1 cold calls, and so do 2 other players. SB calls, With the pot size at 11 SB, "Kevin" calls as well. UTG raises, UTG+1 caps, and all the other players call 2 more bets. Now there's 21 SBs in the pot with UTG going to call, so Kevin calls 2 more bets, making the pot size 24 bets. Kevin is likely to have the best hand vs. the gamblers, possibly behind an A-rag hand from the other limpers (or small blind), but still has a good multi-way hand.

Flop: J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (24 SB)

SB checks. Kevin checks. UTG bets out, UTG+1 calls, 2 other limpers call + small blinds calls as well. Pot is 29 SB into Kevin who has a backdoor flush, backdoor straight and 2 overcards. In the past, I might have folded this, but the pot is too damn big. Kevin calls. (30 SB to the turn)

Turn: T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (15 BB)

Kevin checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 bets. 1 guy folds, 1 guy calls, SB folds. Now there are 17 BB in the pot. Kevin now has OESD with 6 outs to the nuts, and 2 more outs that are possibly good, plus 2 overcards. Kevin calls and the UTG maniac folds

River A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (18 BB)
Bingo, Bango, Bongo! Showtunes going off in Kevin's head.

He checks. UTG+1 bets, remaining other player calls, Kevin check-raises. UTG+1 asks if he has "KQ", Kevin says "Yeah." UTG+1 re-raises. Other guy folds. Kevin 4-bets and UTG+1 calls. (27 BB total)

Kevin shows his runner-runner straight, UTG+1 throws his set of Tens at the dealer and the table proceeds to talk about how much of a luckbox Kevin is for the rest of the evening.

Standard? Boring? Too loose?

A couple of years ago, I might have folded this on the flop with nothign more than overcards and backdoor possiblities, but after reading SSH and given the maniacal reads of UTG and UTG+1, Kevin played the hand the same way I would have played it now. Is this misapplied, or was this okay?
