Default How was this played?

This hand occured about 15 minutes into my time at this table so I don't really have any good reads.

PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Plummy1013 is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
Plummy1013 raises, 6 folds, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: (6 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Plummy1013 bets, SB calls, BB calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Plummy1013 checks.

River: (4.50 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB bets, BB calls, Plummy1013 raises, SB 3-bets, BB folds, Plummy1013 calls.

Final Pot: 11.50 BB

What I am wondering is if I could have folded this river after his bet, due to the threat of reverse domination. Should I have just called? I really just got carried away by the sight of the ace and forgot the tendency of player to play any ace. Thanks for any input,

-Plummy1013
