Getting pwned by a LAG?
Today I played poker for the first time in 10 days. It would be surprisingly for me to quit. But I don't want to give up on my invested hard work. Instead I'm diving after the sunk costs.
Me being rusty had the consecvence that I was a lot more unsure of decitions than I usually am. Some help with this LAG would be appreciated. Thanks! I was up agianst a LAG. I didn't know how to play agianst him. When I sat down at the table all I knew was his stats. He was something like 50/20 with an aggresison factor of just under 2 over 2000 mined hands. His folded to blind pecent was surprisingly high, 55%, so one could suspect that he wans't clueless, but pushed where he _thought_ he had edges. His folded to bet percent was between 20 and 30 for all streets. Here are most of the hands I played against him in todays session. Do you think I handled him okay, or that I got pwned? I have commented with what I was thinking at the moment and I also show the results since they are important for future hands. HAND 1: Party Poker 10.00/20.00 Hold'em (6 handed) link Preflop: Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG calls, 3 folds, Hero completes, BB checks. Flop: (3.00 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets, BB folds, UTG raises, Hero 3-bets, UTG caps, Hero calls. Turn: (5.50 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, UTG checks. River: (5.50 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, UTG checks. Final Pot: 5.50 BB. Results in white below: Hero has Qh Js (a pair of jacks.) UTG has Jd Ts (a pair of jacks.) Hero wins 5.35 BB. My plan was to call down after the flop. I was aware of the free card risk. On the riever I figured it was probable he had a flush draw and would bluff, or that he would bet a worse hand anyway. HAND 2: Party Poker 10.00/20.00 Hold'em (6 handed) link Preflop: Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 3 folds, Hero raises, 1 folds, BB calls. Flop: (4.50 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) BB checks, Hero bets, BB raises, Hero calls. Turn: (4.25 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) BB checks, Hero bets, BB raises, Hero folds. Final Pot: 7.25 BB. Results in white below: BB doesn't show. BB wins 7.10 BB. HAND 3: Party Poker 10.00/20.00 Hold'em (5 handed) link Preflop: Hero is CO with T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 folds, Hero raises, 1 folds, SB calls, BB calls. Flop: (6.00 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, SB calls, BB folds. Turn: (4.00 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero checks. River: (4.00 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets, Hero folds. Final Pot: 5.00 BB. Results in white below: SB doesn't show. SB wins 4.90 BB. I guess this was just bad and playing scared? HAND 4: Party Poker 10.00/20.00 Hold'em (5 handed) link Preflop: Hero is SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 2 folds, Hero raises, BB calls. Flop: (4.00 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, BB calls. Turn: (3.00 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, BB bets, Hero folds. Final Pot: 4.00 BB. Results in white below: BB doesn't show. BB wins 3.90 BB. HAND 5: Party Poker 10.00/20.00 Hold'em (5 handed) link Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 1 folds, CO calls, 2 folds, Hero checks. Flop: (2.50 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, CO checks. Turn: (1.25 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, CO raises, Hero calls. River: (5.25 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, CO checks. Final Pot: 5.25 BB. Results in white below: Hero has As 7c (a pair of sevens.) CO has 3s 4s (a pair of threes.) Hero wins 5.15 BB. Is preflop a raise? I feel I have an equity edge, but I have raising and then betting away to be raised somewhere in the hand with the options fold and call both close to EV 0. I figured I'd rather let him bet the hand for me so I could always call with EV+. Is this good or flawed thinking. On the flop I went for the ch/r since this is the kind of flop I can see getting checked on the river and I want to get money in when most likly ahead. It failed. He went super tricky on me with his bottom pair. HAND 6: Party Poker 10.00/20.00 Hold'em (5 handed) link Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG calls, 2 folds, Hero checks. Flop: (2.50 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, UTG raises, Hero calls. Turn: (3.25 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, UTG raises, Hero calls. River: (7.25 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, UTG checks. Final Pot: 7.25 BB. Results in white below: Hero has Kh 6s (a pair of sixes.) UTG has 7d 7s (a pair of sevens.) UTG wins 7.15 BB. The reasons I bet the turn was that he had checked behind two times before, and he seemed to be playing back with bad hands. But I don't know if my hand was strong enough to not call down. Agaisnt an aggressive player who I could count on to bet the turn I'd just call him down. So how did I do? |
