Default I am in a $50,000 tournament online tonight, is this the right strat

strategy?

I have been playing poker for about 6 months and am improving all the time. First time I played was at a casino tournament and I came 2nd out of 110 people are won $1000. That got me really interested in the game.

I have been doing ok on the internet - a bit better than even on the poker online tournaments. I don't play the cash tables which some people say is where the money is to be made. I won a tournament with 170 people in during the week to win a seat in a $50k tournament tonight.

I was just wondering if the following strategy is the right to use - I am planning on playing tight, playing top 15 hands sort of thing - i.e. AA, AK, Ax suited and any pairs I will at least see the flop as long as its fairly cheap.

If I do make it into the later stages I will not be able to play so tight because the blinds obviously become very high. I don't want to get swallowed up.

Is this the right strategy to play?

Thanks
