Default Blackjack Dispute

On my recent trip to Vegas, I encountered an amazing hand. I wont name the casino in question since this is still on-going. I have a $100 bet and get 9,9 vs a 2. I split 3 times for a total of 4 hands. On the 3rd hand I get another 9 and the dealer looks at me as if waiting for me to make a decision. I ask, "can i split again?". Having played a lot of blackjack in my life, I have never heard of being able to split more than 3 times for 4 hands. Her reply was, "yes." So I split for a 5th hand and she deals a card (10) on my 3rd 9. The floor happens to walk up and sees 5 hands and questions the dealer. She replies that they allow splits up to 6 hands. The floor looks at her like she is crazy and tells her the rule is 4 hands and she still replies she thinks it's 6 hands.

Now this is where it gets interesting. The floor instructs her to push my 5th bet back to me, PULLS the 10 she already dealt me off of my 3rd hand and replaces the 5th nine back on the 3rd nine and then puts the 10 on my 4th 9. Now I realize this is how it would have went down hand she not made an error, but my 5th hand was already established and she dealt a card after establishing it. I have also never seen a card backed up regardless if it that was the card that was originally supposed to go on a different hand.

I think since my 5th hand was already established and a card dealt, the floor should have told the dealer that in the future the split rule is a max of 4 hands, but my hands should have been played out.

As you might guess, she drew 21 and i lost all 4 hands, one of which was a double for a total of $500. I would like to hear any comments on this.
