Which way does it rest?

I'm in the midst of a debate at this very second with a girl. She's standing right next to me as I type. We just had sex, and afterwards, a discussion came up (pun intended).

The debate rests (pun intended again) on the direction of the penis when a guy lies down. When you're on your back, does yours rest up towards the torso, or does it rest down, on top of the scrotum between the thighs?

She and I disagree on this -- the way mine was differed from all her previous experiences (she insists I include that these experiences aren't as numerous as you all are thinking right now).
