Where do the pro's begin?

Hi, I was just wondering if I could ask you fellows advice about the 1/2 game. I've been running strong in the .50/1.00 game at pokerroom and wanted to move up. I realize there's a possibility that's its only short-term success though.
1. Is 1/2 a game ever played by serious players like yourselves?
2. Is it still qualitatively different than 3/6?
3. Is tight aggressive the approach for this level? Meaning being wary of even suited connectors.
I know in Mr. Sklansky's book on gambling for a living it said most pros play 10/20 but, on the internet, is it more likely 5/10?
I only ask so I know who to avoid.
