Re: to all Internet pros
I want everyone I play with to have such a great time losing their money to me that they'll come back next paycheck and lose some more. Often, however, there just isn't much time to do any kind of socializing. I do try to respond with at least a "ty" or "nh", since it doesn't take a whole lot of time, though even that may be delayed a bit if I'm multi-tabling. If things are flowing smoothly and I can squeeze in a little conversation I try to liven the table up, but I can't afford to chat to the point where I lose focus on my game(s).
I think it's more of a long term advantage, for me at least, to play fewer tables and make things more exciting, building a reputation as a "fun" player than try to play as many tables as I can at once, even if it means a potential loss of income. Not only is it good for business, it makes the job a lot more enjoyable than just grinding it out day after day, month after month, year after year. Sure, some pros don't realize or don't care how anybody feels as long as they're making money. I'm not going to go out of my way to convince them to be nicer or more talkative though. Hell, if they're mean, rude, arrogant bastards it just means the ones who come to play for fun will be more inclined to come play with me ~TG |
