One thing I love about playing online
2/4 @ Empire
In my first orbit I'm dealt ATs. A player I know is a rock raises, another player I know is a fish cold calls, I cold call with ATs, everyone else folds. Flop comes T, 9, 4 rainbow. Tight player bets, fish raises, I reraise, both call. Turn (T, 9, 4) 9 completes rainbow. Tight checks, fish bets, I raise, they both call. River is a brick. It's checked to me I check. The tight player turns over KK, the fish wins with 98s. I read both hands, but dumped $18 anyway. So I play extrememly tight until the big blind comes around to me and I leave. I know I played that hand terribly so I regain my composure, get a snack, read some 2+2 posts, and then go back to Empire a couple hours later. In an hour session I make 22 bucks, erasing my loss. Now this is why I love online poker. You can get up and leave and play at your own convenience. If I was at a card room, or even a home game, I would have stayed at the table and steamed away a lot of money. Right now I'd probably be pouting about all my "bad beats" instead of typing this post on how much I love playing online. |
