Question for you Vegas golfers

Couldn't think of anywhere better to post this so sorry if it's out of place.

I'll be in Vegas in October and was looking to get in a round of golf. My buddies and I are planning on spending somewhere in the ballpark of $100 a head but we're pretty flexible on that.

Anybody know of any nice courses in that price range that aren't too far from the strip (we'll be taking a taxi from the Mandalay Bay)?

Also, I'm weighing whether or not to pack my clubs so any information about club rentals would be helpful as well.
