When sensible people refer to the faking of hands, its more along the lines of ESPN not taking the time to use only hands they are sure of the hole cards on, but instead choosing the hand, and if they are unclear asking the players, then splicing in the cards when possible, or simply pasting up the graphic.
Some do indeed think ESPN wants to pull hands out of air that seem dramatic or over the top, but these folks generally only post between certain hours of the day, due to abundance of black helicopters during other parts.
In short, ESPN has some shitty editors and poor fact checking.
