Multiple Sexual Partners

Say that having multiple sexual partners was totally accepted by society...

Now, let's say that your significant other would allow you to get some on the side with others, but only if they'd be allowed the same... would you take advantage of this? Would it be different if you were married? Would her/his taste in men/women play a role?

In Edit: Assume safe sex... I don't want to make this a safety debate.
