Renting a car in Vegas

Me and three other friends are heading to Vegas in a couple of weeks and I thought it'd be a good idea to rent a car. We plan to play poker at different casinos along with some low buy-in tournies and I thought having the car would come out cheaper than cab rides in the long run. The convenience factor is also playing a role in the decision. Is this a good idea? Any reason why we should reconsider a rental car? Can parking be a problem?
