Again, How Is and/or How will the U.S. Benifit from Iraqi Oil?

Because the U.S. owns the oil fields? Because the U.S. will get a special break on prices from Iraq? Because U.S. troops will stay on Iraqi soil and control them? Because Al-Jaafari (before Alawi was the U.S. puppet du jour) is a U.S. puppet? Something else? What is it? Someone made a claim that the people in the U.S. don't care about the Iraqi situation because it allows the people in the U.S. to make a good living. How is that so? I can only surmise that it's somehow related to Iraqi oil.
