Default table changes

OK Guys, a little advice please,,,,,
I'm new to the forum, gotta admit, some interesting reads here. Anyway, decent limit player working up the ladder, strictly live play (Commerce mostly) doing well while increasing bankroll while moving up limits (currently at 20/40) but am confused on the quote / unquote professional opinions on table changes when cards are running bad. Typically I do not like to change often because of the comfort of learning the players, however, sustaining long droughts is not comforting either. Looking for some honest opinions
