Ram question for Inspiron 6000

Just got my Inspiron 6000. Wow, what peice of art! Anyway, was wondering what type of RAM would be the best choice for it. I am looking to get something about 80-90% as good as the best, as I've noticed this saves you about 50% with computer stuff. Does anybody know the name of the RAM that would meet these needs and the cheapest place to get it? I was thinking of getting 2 512 sticks. Thanks so much in advance.
