People frequently make the mistake of thinking that the prestige of a university as an undergraduate institution is clearly representative of its stature in everything else. While I'll admit there's some correlation, it's not really the case. Besides, I'm not sure that I'd say that Penn and Brown have a better reptuation than Columbia as undergraduate institutions.
