1-2 NL against a maniac that looks like Morgan Freeman.
Greektown casino.
This guy is the real deal. Whenever the action is to him he asks "how much? can I raise now?" without looking at his cards first. He has raised about 90% of his hands his usual raise is $20-25 opening. About a third of those 90% are being raised in the dark. The table has a $100 max buy in and he has about $600 in front of him. It's hard to tell though because it's all lying around randomly in classic maniac pile. He does not seem to understand that he even has the option to check or what check even means as when anyone says it he becomes confused. He is drunk. And he is OWNING the table. The table has a $6 time charge every half hour and I've been at the table about 2 hours and haven't played a hand (except one that busted me.) My friend too my right asked me "what range of hands are you waiting for?" and I responded "AA-TT, AK,AQ, only" since I'm planning on limp reraising all in on him since I know he will raise, but if I raise he does have the tendency to just call and not reraise. He has also been putting people all in on the flop (he has largest stack at table) and I've seen a few people call 2x-3x pot overbets all in with as little as two overcards. I've got about $78 left (after rebuying another $100) and decide to ignore my own advice when this hand comes up. Folded to me in MP2 with K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and I limp (it will be raised by Morgan Freeman with any 2 and I know the others will fold unless they have a pocket pair or two big face cards and I can fold.) Folded to him on Button (I'm two seats to his right and can't get to his left) and he raises while saying "Okay, I haven't even looked yet" to $15 and I call leaving me with $61. I have been watching and know he hasn't looked yet. Is this limp and call of raise okay with KTs against two random cards? Flop comes T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I check and raise all in after he bets about $40. Should I just stick to the AA-TT AK, AQ, in this situation where you know it's going to be raised preflop everytime to 10x the BB? Even despite the cards being random? If not, what is a playable hand range with a medium stack? |
