Default Getting even lower

Just when you thought they couldn't get any lower

Israel says a Palestinian woman arrested carrying explosives at a Gaza checkpoint planned to blow herself up in an Israeli hospital.

Wafa al-Bis, 21, was stopped on her way to receive treatment for burns at the Beersheba hospital which Israel says was her intended target.

The Israeli military said Ms Bis was stopped by suspicious soldiers at the Erez crossing point between Gaza and Israel.

The army said she had tried to blow herself up there but the explosives did not detonate.

Israeli officials said Ms Bis, who comes from the Jabaliya refugee camp in Gaza, was burnt in a cooking accident five months ago, and had received treatment on humanitarian grounds in the Beersheba hospital.

They said she was making another trip for follow-up treatment on Monday, but planned to blow herself up instead.

This story should indicate to all of you the stark contrast between the Israeli and PLO societies. While Israelis have been besieged by terror, they have still maintained their humanitarian values - even at risk to their own lives. On the other hand, the Arabs have exploited our humanitarian gestures, in order to fulfil the one thing they value more than their own lives - murdering Jews.

In an interview shown on Israeli television, Ms Bis said her "dream was to be a martyr".

Not "ending the occupation." Rather, because of systematic brainwashing that demonizes Jews and proclaims the killing of Jews while killing yourself as a one-way ticket to paradise.

In this case, who was responsible for this brainwashing?

She said she was recruited by the al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades - an off-shoot of Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah faction.

Conclusions? Abbas is just as ugly as Arafat, except he's wearing a suit.

Meanwhile, the murderer-to-be has pleaded for mercy.

Despite her fallacious argument (she did not kill anyone due only to an "equipment malfunction", and no change of heart on her part), she doesn't even need to plea for mercy. She is not going to be executed (like suspected collaborators are in the Territories). She will do some time in jail, where she will be free to destroy as many Korans as she wants. Because that is the kind of society we have: one which values human life - even a life which does not value itself, let alone others.
