I'm not completely sure how he got into the Hall. He won two championships, one with Portland early in his career, and one later on in his career with the Celtics (he was not a starter at this point). My hunch is that he got in mainly based on his reputation as one of the greatest college players in history (which he was, by most definitions). However, college success should not get one into the professional Hall of Fame.
