Bellagio room reservation question

I'm planning on taking a trip to Vegas in July with some friends.. My friends seem completely bent on staying at the Bellagio, so it is going to be pricey. In order to mitigate that, we were thinking about all four of us sharing a room. However, it seems the room rates are significantly more expensive for 4 people as opposed to 2. Any suggestions whether it is feasible to to book the room for 2 and sneak in 2 more, or do I need to book for 4? However we do it, we would all like to be able to use the pool as well..
