Default Sweetening the inevitable chop?

MP 1 is 65/5 through about 40 hands. I've pegged him as a silly player.

Button is 15/3. I have no doubt he's holding an Ace.

Hero checks, MP1 checks, Button bets, Hero calls, MP1 calls.

Final Pot: 20.75 BB

The turn and river calls were meant to keep MP1 involved. Correct?
