Guild Wars MMORPG -- reviews?

I know a lot of you are gamers, so I'm hoping to get some insight into whether Guild Wars is worth buying. I've never tried an online game (other than poker) because I hate the idea of having to pay for server time when I'm unlikely to play more than ten to fifteen hours per week. Guild Wars is attractive to me because the only cost is the price of the software -- online time is free. So . . . anyone have good or bad things to say about it?
