Keeping track of pot size

How do people keep track of how much money is in the pot? I'm usually so occupied with putting players on hands and keeping track of live cards that I only know if a pot is small or large. Calculating accurate pot odds would be a major improvement to my game - as I've been playing more $5/10, it shouldn't be that hard. Any tips?
