I used to prepare taxes here is what you do.

If you were not paying or getting a refund, simply file an extension.

If you owed tax, then file an extention and include the payment along with it. If you don't remember how much then use your best estimate.

You can request new copies of your W2s from your employer, if for some reason you are unable to then you can request a copy from the IRS.
