Default Giving up on 2 pair

You call in mid position with A3 suited, and the flop is A63. You bet out the pot, and get a caller in early positon who checked. The turn is non-threatening rag, and the EP player checks. You bet out about 75% pot and get raised 2x your bet.

At what point do you toss it in and decide you're beat, and why. This is with no read on the player in question. Just playing the cards and the bet.

Certainly at lower stakes, this guy could have AK, AQ, or Ax, or even be running a bluff.

I'm struggling with 2 pair. I lose more money with this hand than any other. Whenever I flop something like bottom 2 pair, I always seem to get drawn out on, and if I flop 2 pair, I have a hard time laying it down.

Any thoughts/experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Eric
