Default Amusing Story

I'm playing 1/2 hold'em at Hard Rock in Florida. This total beginner sits down with about $20 and announces to the table that we all need to "help him figure this game out." On the first hand, the flop comes K 8 3 rainbow. Someone bets and the beginner is the only caller. The turn pairs the 8. Again, a bet and he calls. The river is a 4, with no flush possible on the board. Before the other player even has a chance to bet, the beginner flips over his cards, a 52s, and looks at the dealer to see if he won. The dealer says "Sorry buddy, one more round of betting" as his opponent throws a final bet into the pot almost as a joke. Surprisingly, the guy starts pondering a call!

This guy is sitting here with the worst possible hand and is seriously considering a call. I can't help myself: "What do you think he has, man?" The opponent shoots me a glare and I shut up, but even the dealer tells him: "Man, you better fold that hand." After another 10 seconds, the beginner reluctantly throws his $2 in the pot, and the table erupts in laughter.

Maybe this isn't the right forum for the story, but I thought it was notable, worth sharing.
