I was playing in the UB $200 10pm Sunday tournament, first prize is $38,000.
I am late position with Kd Qd, it is 10 handed, blinds are 75/150 and about half the field has been eliminated. The game has gotten really tight and I have about $4000 in chips, a little less than average, but the rounds are only 15 minutes a piece and blinds are going up to 75/150 with a 25 ante in 10 minutes and will move up quickly thereafter. I have not seen a hand in over an hour and this is the best I have gotten. A guy in middle position limps in and it is called by one other. I call, the little blind calls and the big blind checks. Five people are in the pot. The flop comes Tc 7d 4d I have two overcards and a flush draw ... fifteen outs to beat a pair of Jacks or less. The blinds check. The first player moves in 2500. The second player comes over top for 4000 all in. Now there is 7250 in the pot and I have to call 4000. I am getting close to 2:1 odds to call. If I call, what am I up against and given this what is the right thing to do? (I will tell you what I did and what happened afterward) |
